Bomb 51mm smoke is an emission type screening smoke Ammn capable of producing effective screen for a period of 2 minutes over wide area. Used for facilitating tactical deployment of troops and screening from enemy fire.Also can be used for target indication.

The bomb is fired from 51mm Mortar smooth bore,muzzle loading weapon. The Ammn.is provided with delay element of around 10 sec to facilitate emission of the smoke just on landing.The bomb produces thick screen of smoke over wide area within 5sec at a range anywhere between 180 metre to 850 metre.

               
 The bomb produces very  effective screen in  a 
   wide area without any pillaring effect.
               
 Combat soldiers can personally carry six bombs
   in the canvas bag provided with shoulder strap.     
               
 The bomb is fit for air drop and provided with
   package for sea worthy transportation.                 
               
 Can be easily identified from other 50 mm Ammns.
               
 Can be fired concurrently with other 51mm  Ammn.

QUALITY

Quality control technique and qulity assurance measures ensure desired performance of the Ammn. Components and sub-assemblies like tail unit primary cartg,augmenting cartg,delay unit etc. are subjected to test/proof before final assembly. Apart from satndard checks and tests, a lot of 1000 Nos. is subjected to functional (dynamic) proof.The Ammn is Accepted on double sampling plan with 4% AQL for major defects as listed in the quality assurance documents.
