Bridge Assault Floating Heavy Class 50T

The bridge is of the deck type. The main components of the superstructure of the bridge are made of aluminium alloy and are floatable. The bridge consists of main girdenrs, ramp girders,cross girders, frames for saddle,kerbs and pneumatic rubberised floats which are inflated by a filling unit. The roadway is formed by the main girders which are supported on the saddles fitted on the floats. One KM bridge set mainly consists of 22 nos. of floats,292 main girders, 92 ramp girders,44 cross girders,88 frames for saddles,22 centre beam and 42 kerbs.
The bridge is mainly used for crossing water obstacles,normally capable of taking class 50Tloads.Rafts/ferries can also be constructed using the bridiging components.
KM bridge of 100 m length can be constructed by 125 soldiers in 3 hours during day and 41/2 hours during night.
