• This ammunition belongs to that group of power cartridges that are extensively used in propellant actuated devices as the main energy source for carrying out various mechanical work. This power cartridge is used as Ejector Release Unit for Ajeet A/c. The power cartridges are characterised by their use of slower, cooler, burning propellant, producing sustained thurst with lower peak pressures thereby introducing less strains in the propellant actuated devices/ structures. It is made up of aluminuum alloy case filled with double base propellant.

• The store is manufactured to Government of India, Ministry of Defence Specification no. ARDE/SPECN/276 and drawing number ARDE 1896.

QUALITY

• The raw materials used for components are tested by independent Quality Assurance Wing. During manufacturing stage quality surveillance, both by the producer and Air Force representatives, are provided. Only passed components are taken into final assembly. The final ammunition is proved statically by the Air Force representative for its functionability.

• As the cartridge is a pyro-technic ammunition, it is safe during manufacture, transit and storage.

  RELIABILITY

• Due to its sound and simple design and careful manufacture, the cartridge is reliable for use under any condition.

• 8 cartridges are packed in polythene container No. P/17A. 18 such containers [total 144 cartridges] are packed in steel box G-70 MK-1
