• The cartridge is fitted on the backrest of ejection seat of the Air Craft. Two cartridges are fitted for redundancy purpose. This is used to cut the nylon cord tied over the canvas flap thereby releasing the conical spring to force out the radio beacon along with the antenna from the ejection seat.

• The catridge functions during deployment of main parachute with a delay of 3.5 to 4.8 sec. to cut the cord which ensures that there is no entanglement fo the radio beacon antenna with the parachute rigging lines. This helps in transmitting the signals to the search party to locate the safe landed pilot.
