  • The mine proof vehicle consists of a mine protected monocoque hull/body.
  • In this vehicle the hull assembly is built from high alloy armour resisting steel
  • Max.safety of the crew from ballistic and other forms of attack by virtue of the "V" shapped envelope of the body.
  • High degree of safety in respect of collision or vehicle roll over.
  • The life cycle of the vehicle is extended indefinity, as the body construction does not suffer from fatigue degeneration.
  • Minimum down time following the detonation of landmines under the vehicle.
  • The engine and transmission and axle are of Shaktiman design
  • Due to inherent design of Shakiman engine,mounting suitable space for accomodation of steering system on right side is possible
  • Power assisted steering system is provided
  • The installation of robust beam axles leaf spring suspension system,power assisted steering system is conveniently accessible.
  • The design provides for ease or replacement of axles for other aggregates in the field
  • Long travel leaf springs are fitted longitudinally ont the front and the rear axles and to underside of the bull, hydraulic, double acting,telescopic shock absorbers are fitted to the front and rear axles,making it more versatile for cross country operation.
  • Dual circuit fail safe brake system of 12 ton GVW is provided on vehicle front and rear wheels.Brakes are hydraulically operated and air assisted.
  • The troop compartment has seating capacity for 10 troops at the rear of the vehicle and 2 persons in the driver cabin.
  • One rear entry and eight top hatches for emergency exit.
  • The bonnet is an armoured constn. providing the engine with sufficient protection against small arms fire & bush driving conditions.
  • The engine,transmission and fuel tank are all contained within the armour hull for maximum protection from detonation.
  • Side port holes for personal weapons.
  • The windows are of high impact,resistant and laminated plate glass, replaceble to provide protection against small arms ammunition attack.
  • Two spare wheel carries are fitted to vehicles one on each side at the rear.
  • The vehicle carries 50 L. of drinking water and 240 L. of diesel.
  • The body of the vehicle can offer resistance of attack by 7.62 SLR Nato Ball ammunition from a distance of 10 meters. It can also withstand grenade mortar splinter attack and other sharpened point attack.
